This Scandinavian Mantra Perfectly Describes Your Favorite Activity

@varpulotta

We find the Scandinavian way of life fascinating — from the “Nordic” diet to “hygge” living (hygge means cozy). Now, there’s a new mantra we can’t get enough of. If you’re the type that wants nothing more than to lounge on the couch in your underwear drinking a glass of wine on Saturday night, you’re going to love kalsarikännit.

Kalsarikännit, which has Finnish origins and is pronounced Kawl-SAW-ree-KAHN-eet, translates literally to “underweardrunk.” It means — you guessed it — getting drunk alone in your underwear with no intention of going out. So yeah, it’s our favorite pastime.

With Norway and a handful of other Scandinavian countries topping the 2017 world’s happiest countries list, this may be a sign that we need to be staying in more and just enjoying ourselves.

You know what, we’ll take one for the team and test out this routine. We know, twist our arm (hehe). See you never.
