Italienne: French Meets Italian at This Old World-Style Eatery

[tw-divider]The Scoop[/tw-divider]
- Chef Jared Sippel — an alum of Frasca Food & Wine in Boulder and the Michelin-starred Quince in San Francisco — takes his passion to another level with the creation of Italienne, a Flatiron eatery that combines Southern France and Northern Italy cuisines
- Sipple marries old world charm with ingredients from some of the world’s most respected purveyors. The restaurant has two separate dining spaces; a room in the back with tasting menus and a laid-back taverna up front serving a la carte small plates
- The whole space has warm wood tones and gives off a European vibe. From the taverna menu, craft your own seafood platter of cichetti (small side snacks typically served in Venice, Italy), choose-your-own charcuterie and formaggi (cheese) board, and other small plates like arancino with saffron and mozzarella di bufala and trumpet mushrooms with tarragon butter
