These In-Flight Lounges Are Like The Golden Age Of Flying Again

Save up those airline rewards points. Flying first or business class can feel like the jet-setting style of the early days of commercial aviation. These onboard bars and lounges are like the golden age of flying all over again. Can we get an old fashioned, please?

Virgin Australia Bar

On long-haul flights (we’re talking Australia to Los Angeles or Hong Kong), business class passengers can get up and take a seat at the plane’s bar. You and nine other fliers can sip wine, Aussie beers and spirits.

Korea Air’s Celestial Bar

The airline’s A380 planes have a craft cocktail bar, the Celestial Bar. It’s exclusive to luxury travelers, so economy kids, you’ll have to stick with the normal drinks service and you don’t get to bask in Celestial’s mood lighting.

Etihad Airway’s The Lobby

First class and business class tickets also buy you entry into “The Lobby” on certain Etihad flights. It’s made to feel like you’re hanging out in a plush hotel lobby, instead of 40,000 feet in the air.

Emirates Airlines’ Bar

Emirates wants to emulate a yacht onboard its fancy flights. The car can fit eight seated guests and more than 20 who want to stand and stretch their legs while grabbing a drink.

Qatar Airways’ Lounge

Qatar has an airplane lounge so that first and business class passengers can go from the airport lounge to an in-flight lounge. There are signature drinks and snacks – and we bet the nibbles are better than the rest of the cabin food.
