In-Flight Gyms Could Soon Become A Reality
Can you imagine boarding a plane, walking back to your seat and on the way there passing a gym? We can’t, but we’re listening. Airbus, Peleton and Reebok have partnered up to create conceptual in-flight gyms with a variety of machines. SoulCycle fans, you could get your fix while heading to your next destination.
This is some serious future shit.
The module was revealed at the San Jose airport on April 24 and featured spinning cycles, as well as a resistance exercise area passengers could use to stretch out.

Though it’s only a concept, the trio has already devised blueprints and pricing options. Gym memberships would be sold separately from airfare and would be a new source of revenue for airlines. Plus, it would give passengers an opportunity to do literally anything other than sit in their (likely) uncomfortable seat for hours.
The team is considering adding module walls to the blueprint of the model, which means you could cycle away while surrounded by visuals of a sunny beach or redwood forest.
Would you spin or do yoga in flight? Modules may soon give passengers more options & relieve stress. Flyers giving feedback at .@FlySJC. pic.twitter.com/qluISoiUHi

We are so down to work out while up in the air. Though we do have questions: how many seats would be taken out of planes just to add the gym? And if you get super sweaty, are you just supposed to stay sweaty for the rest of the entire flight?. Nevertheless, we’re intrigued.
