You Can Dine Inside A Massive Gingerbread House

@greatwolflodge

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to build a gingerbread house? Well, what if we told you that not only can you build one this season, but you can dine in a life-size gingerbread house? Great Wolf Lodge, a hotel and indoor amusement park chain, is offering patrons the chance to have dinner inside a homemade life-size gingerbread house. We’re flocking to the nearest lodge ASAP.

Travel + Leisure reports that starting November 25, all Great Wolf Lodge locations around the U.S. will be turning their indoor activities into holiday-themed festivities, including the gingerbread house dinner. The houses will be situated inside the lodges and will stand almost two stories high. Pastry chefs will have spent ten days to two weeks creating the structures, which are made from more than 5,000 different candies, 600 pounds of gingerbread dough and 1,320 pounds of sugar.

You can find some of your favorite sweets, like Peeps and Hot Tamales, on the houses. (The lodge has partnerships with a number of big candy brands.)

Most houses seat a group of six, though some locations offer extra large houses that accommodate up to 10 people. You can reserve your spot in one of the homes for breakfast, lunch or dinner for a $10 to $20 surcharge on top of your room rental.

So, can we eat the house after dinner? We’re guessing probably not, but you bet we’ll sneak a candy or two off the door. Hey, who will notice? 😉
