This Bento Box Has Nine Pounds Of Wagyu Beef Inside And It’s Insane

Your average bento box usually has a healthy portion of meat inside, along with some other light bites like vegetables, tempura, salad, rice and fish. This monstrous bento box, created by the Japanese lunch delivery service Gochikuru, one-upped every other bento box you’ve ever had by filling a cow-shaped bento box with nine pounds of wagyu beef. The elaborate wagyu box is only available for delivery in Japan.

This wooden bento box is two-feet-wide and goes for $2,800. The beef is from Tottori Prefecture, which is well-known for some of the most sought-after meat in the world. Within the box, customers get slices of cooked sirloin, prime rib, brisket and cow tongue. All of the premium beef is arranged over rice and there are plenty of dipping sauces for everything.

The whole delivery process takes a total of two weeks, but if you consider yourself a meat lover, it’s worth it. Hey, you can always start on that plant-based diet next month, right?
