This Cave Airbnb Is The Exact Opposite Of Living Like A Neanderthal, It’s Crazy Cozy
When someone suggests sleeping in a cave, you probably imagine early human civilization back in the Neanderthal days. However, there’s a cave Airbnb in the south of France that’s nothing like that. In fact, it’s the coziest home inside a cliff. We’re obsessed. We never knew we needed to sleep in a cave until now.
You get to this plush cave dwelling by following a switchback-like staircase through historic archways right up the cliffside. Once you’re inside, you’ll be in love. The whole space is built around the natural cave formation. Even the shower is basically a stalactite/stalagmite situation. But not in a slimy way. It’s welcomingly rustic.
From the cave, you can see the charming nearby village of Cotignac. It’s a quiet place, but if you’re looking for the provincial life, you’ll love toting fruit, bread and delish French pastries back to your cave home.
Amenities include:
- One bed
- One bathroom
- WiFi
- TV
- Washer
- Free parking
Here’s how to make this dream vacation a reality:
Cotignac is located just inland from Nice, Cannes and Marseille, so making the journey from one of those locations is your best bet. You can fly into one of the three French cities or take the train from Paris. To get to Cotignac, however, you’ll probably want a car. (If you’re feeling really stubborn, there is a bus that takes a longer route and connects in nearby Brignoles.) Once you’re in the village, everything is walkable.
So friends, when are we going?
