Frankel’s Delicatessen Features Nostalgic Nosh From A New Generation

[tw-divider]The Scoop[/tw-divider]

  • In Manhattan, there’s Russ & Daughters; now Brooklyn has the Frankel brothers. The menu at Frankel’s is full of Jewish deli classics like matzah ball soup, latkes, and hot pastrami on rye, a satisfyingly giant sandwich with thick cuts of pastrami
  • Anita’s Hot Brisket is a recipe straight from Grandma Frankel. Get a full platter for $17 or make it a sandwich for $15, served on fresh challah bread
  • Frankel’s is run by brothers Zach and Alex Frankel, who were raised on the Upper West Side, and now live in Brooklyn. Alex is a member of the band Holy Ghost!, whose last album was released in May 2016

There’s not that much seating inside, and the line can get long. When the weather’s nice enough, take your sandwiches to go and picnic right around the corner in McCarren Park
