This British Supermarket Is Selling Foot-Long Chocolate Eclairs

Who doesn’t love a good chocolate eclair? The long French pastry made of profiterole dough, stuffed with pastry cream and topped with thick chocolate icing is a dessert staple in many households around the holidays. Since there is no end in sight of giant foods, it makes sense that the British supermarket chain Asda is creating foot-long chocolate eclairs just in time for the holidays. These giant pastries are filled with chocolate whipped cream and they’re available in stores across the United Kingdom starting December 14.

This monster-sized eclair is equivalent to about three regular-sized eclairs and it’s twice the height, so in total it’s about six times the size of your standard eclair. These party-sized pastries will run you £5, which is close to $7.

To the customer’s advantage, the ingredients of the pastry aren’t reflected in the price. These babies are made with light choux pastry, fluffy Belgian chocolate mousse, sticky caramel sauce and chocolate fondant. The size of this Asda specialty pastry makes it easy to share with the whole family.
