Facebook’s Restaurant Delivery Service Goes Live

Hey guys, remember that time way back in May when we said Facebook was planning to add a restaurant delivery feature on the website and mobile app? Well, the time is now. Eater confirms that Facebook has launched the feature and you can start ordering from local restaurants as soon as they open for the day.

The feature, which is plainly labeled “🍽Order Food,” can be found under the Explore section. On your desktop, that’s located on the left-side rail.

On mobile, we have yet to find it — maybe because we’re not that great at navigating the Facebook app, or maybe because it’s just not… there?

What’s appealing about Facebook’s restaurant delivery addition is that the platform aggregates all available restaurants from apps like GrubHub, Seamless, Delivery.com, Olo, Chownow, Doordash and more, making it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for without having to download four different restaurant delivery apps.

To get started, select the provider you’d like to use (any of the restaurant delivery apps mentioned above that you already have an account with) to see restaurant options. From there, you can order from the full menu, add in your payment method and await your glorious meal.

In our opinion, this feature sounds awesome. Instead of wasting precious data downloading all of our preferred restaurant delivery apps, we can just use Facebook. The social media platform may be taking over the world at this point, but it is making our lives easier. Can’t beat that, right?
