Caffeinated Bagels Are The New Way To Get Your Morning Buzz

Bagel chain Einstein Bros. Bagels is already known for their funky bagel creations like Cheesy Hash Brown and Cheddar Jalapeño and sweet “shmears” like maple and honey almond. The chain just announced the newest addition to their bagel family, the Espresso Buzz Bagel. It’s part of their new line of Boosted Bagels, also available in Savory Parm and vegan Cherry Chia, which are jam-packed with bold flavors while also promoting some nutritional benefits.

This bagel isn’t just for show, it actually contains 32mg of caffeine, 13g of protein and it serves as a source of iron and magnesium. This is just about a third of the amount of caffeine that’s in your standard cup of coffee and about half a regular shot of espresso.

Einstein’s suggests you get the bagel sandwich with their brown sugar thick-cut bacon, cage-free eggs, cheddar and butter for the perfect morning boost. That sounds like the ideal breakfast sandwich if you ask us.

The Espresso Buzz took around nine months to perfect and right now it’s a limited edition bagel so get ’em while they’re hot. This idea was inspired by millennials’ interest in craft coffee and Einstein’s has high hopes for the caffeinated carb.

You can’t expect the same energy boost that you’d get from a full cup of joe, but this bagel wears many hats and it seems like a breakfast sandwich that’s worth your time.
