Where to Eat for Chrismukkah, the Best Hybrid Holiday
This year, the stars will align to bring us a very special calendar event, in which Christmas Eve will coincide with the first day of Hannukah on Saturday, December 24. For those of you who watched The OC, you’ll already recognize this joyous occasion as the Seth Cohen-created hybrid holiday known as Chrismukkah.
We can’t all enjoy Cohen’s favorite holiday on the West Coast, where the perpetual sun turns the act of wearing a chunky sweater into a fun costume, but Chrismukkah is for everyone. Here in New York, where the phrase “Polar Vortex” is a perfectly normal way to describe the current weather, there are plenty of restaurants committed to getting in on the Chrismukkah fun, complete with festive mashup dishes that highlight the best flavors of both holidays.
