This Desert Airbnb Is The Epitome Of Your Glamping Dreams

Airbnb

If you’ve ever wanted to go camping in style (glamping, hello!), this desert Airbnb is about to change your life.

The Airbnb, called the Dragonfly Desert Retreat, is located in Pioneertown, California, which is a nearly deserted town with a population of just a few hundred people. The entire area is covered in rugged mountains and scenic trails — perfect for anyone who enjoys a solid hike in the heat.

Dragonfly is comprised of a gated property, trails “as far as the eye can see,” according to the host, and two domes where you can find all of your amenities. The accommodation is solar-powered and off-the-grid, and it sleeps six people comfortably. The price per night starts at $95 for two people on weeknights. On weekends, you can expect to pay $150-160 a night for two people and $25 for each additional person.

Here’s how you can make this dream vacation a reality:

You can get to Pioneertown by plane, train or automobile. The Airbnb page has instructions on how to find the property. Arrange your arrival time with the host and make sure they know how to spot you. The page warns that you’ll drive five miles down dirt roads before meeting Jordan, one of the hosts, who will escort you to the retreat.

Note: Because this is a glamping property, amenities that most hotels provide aren’t included. Make sure to pack the following:

  • Towels
  • Candles — they warn that it gets dark and sometimes power goes out unexpectedly. You should keep candles around the dome just in case (bonus: they keep moths away).
  • Flashlights — same deal. Make sure you’re prepared in case the lights go out!
  • Ice and drinking water
  • Wood — the hosts forbid gathering wood from the property.

So, guys, when are we going?
