Health
We’ve been told countless times to cut processed foods and sugar for baby-soft skin, but you might be chowing down on other foods that could be causing flare-ups. The tannins in wine, particularly red wine, can cause you to develop rashes or hives. And we can’t believe it either, but even healthier eats like avocados are rich in itch-promoting salicylates that can exacerbate a condition like eczema. [Swirled]

Recipe Of The Day: Don’t be intimidated by a strata, it’s basically a savory bread pudding and so delicious. In a large oven-safe dish top slices of firm white bread with prosciutto (or bacon), goat cheese, onions and basil. Separately, mix together milk, eggs, mustard and pour it over the bread and the other ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight so that all the ingredients have a chance to combine. When you’re ready to eat, let the strata come to room temperature and bake at 350 degrees for an hour. Invite your friends and impress them with your brunch skills. [Food 52]
A quick tip from yours truly: For a crispy golden brown top layer on your strata, pop it under the broiler for about 30 seconds to one minute. Don’t forget to make sure the dish is broiler-proof!

Travel
Stick to your travel budget with some strategic bargaining. Avoid overspending at the local market or bazaar by acting casually interested in a product. If you go in wide-eyed and bushy-tailed they’re likely to double the price of the souvenir. Talk the talk of a cold-blooded bargain hunter and you’ll reap the rewards (and cool trinkets). [Swirled]
