Disney Is Painting Over A Beloved Insta Background And ’Grammers Are Freaking Out
Don’t look now, but one of the most popular photo spots in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is no longer.
According to Touring Plans, the “purple wall” outside Tomorrowland is getting a graphic design makeover, and fans are… not thrilled.
Don’t panic, but the famous #PurpleWall is getting a new look. #WDW #MK pic.twitter.com/BRWO02NQs9

It’s actually a geotagged location: The Purple Wall.
And fans are not happy that it’s disappearing. There’s even a hashtag surfacing: #RIPpurplewall.
ALSO HOW THE HECK DO YOU EXPECT US NOT TO PANIC. THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME TO PANIC. https://t.co/7kiMsRfMXZ

Instagram user @incindysshoes posted a warning about the change.
“I got my eyes on you Disney. Don’t even THINK about painting over my bubblegum wall. 😠💜💪🏻 #rippurplewall.”
And @livrandfromtomorrowland made her feelings incredibly clear as well.
Liv wrote, “EXCUSE ME WALT, what did you do with our purple wall? #RIP???”
Honestly, Instagrammers did not hold back.
@taylorrackley posted, “The old purple wall can’t come to the phone right now. why? oh, cause she’s dead. #rippurplewall tbt to my very first purple wall pic 😭💔”
And it’s not only on the ‘gram. Twitter was in on the hoopla, too.
There’s literally nothing in the world like a Disney fan scorned (or a Disney fan who will have to find a new favorite place to pose with for the perfect pic).
@WaltDisneyWorld imagineers: “lets take everything that our guests love and destroy it because we don’t know anything about what the people want” #RIPPurplewall #purplewall

Seriously, Disney loyalists are grieving.
We’ve been covering the hottest Instagram spots for a while, but we’ve never seen quite this much fervor for a simple wall before. We’re sorry to break it to you, Disney lovers, but the wall is gone now. Or not really gone. It’s still a wall. But it’s no longer a simple lavender canvas for the best portrait photo ops in the park.
But for those who are Team Purple Wall forever, don’t worry.
There’s merch.
Wait? Walls get their own hats now? #PurpleWall pic.twitter.com/QQStadjSMO

And fans will always have an entire Instagram documenting the wall’s beautiful life.
There are 14.7K devoted followers of @purplewallphotos to mourn with.
