This Diamond Cappuccino Is Absurd, But We Can’t Look Away

We’re not shy about taking an opposing stance to certain food trends, like over-the-top pumpkin spice foods or the hot mess that was the colorful Starbucks frapp earlier this year. We call BS when we see it, and we’d do it right now…if we could just look away from the beauty. A cafe in Mumbai, India, created a cappuccino made with loads of edible glitter, and they’re calling it the “diamond cappuccino.” Yeah, it’s stupid, but it’s also so pretty.

Coffee by Di Bella, which has multiple locations in Mumbai, offers the glitter-packed cappuccino as the inventive standout in its otherwise standard menu.

According to a review on LBB, “The coffee tastes like regular cappuccino, but has a lot more bling.” Other reviews say the coffee tastes great, but we’re skeptical. First of all, what do your teeth look like after drinking this cappuccino? Will your insides be coated in glitter? — well, edible glitter, but still.

Hey, we love the look, but we’re just not sure about the concept. Don’t blame us for not wanting to down the drink — we’re concerned for our organs. Maybe we’re small-minded, or maybe we’d rather look at the cappuccino all day instead. Make a disco ball out of it and we’ll have ourselves as good time.
