You Can Fly To Colombia For Less Than $300 Roundtrip

Snow escape alert: You can fly south for the winter to Colombia for less than $300.

As you read this, Cartagena temperatures are likely in the sunny 90s and Bogotá boasts a pleasant 70-degree day. It’s not dreary December in Colombia. So we hopped on Google flights and found some deals that allow Americans to hop down to the South American country for around $300 roundtrip.

Colombia’s recent peace agreements after decades of war put the country on the map for travel this year, and we foresee even more travelers exploring mountainous Bogotá and coastal Cartagena in 2018. (Lonely Planet named Colombia as one of its must-visit destinations this year.)

Now, these insane deals aren’t without a catch or two. But we’d still argue it’s 100 percent worth it.

The flight: From Newark Liberty International Airport, just outside NYC, you can fly to Cartagena and back for just $290 from February 26 to March 7.

The catch: You’re leaving at 6:30 a.m. Three cheers for the red-eye life!

From Los Angeles

The flight: You leave Los Angeles International Airport for Bogotá on January 27 and return February 4 – and pay $333 roundtrip.

The catch: There’s a rushed international layover in Mexico City (just about an hour and a half) both there and back.

The flight: Departing from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 19, you can be in Cartagena until March 29 for the price of a $293 ticket.

The catch: Your layover in Fort Lauderdale (either way) is longer than both of your actual flights between the airports.
