There’s nothing better than topping your ice cream sundae with a luscious chocolate shell. You might think it’s impossible to make — how does it pour so smoothly onto the ice cream and harden almost immediately?! But we’re here to share an easy homemade chocolate shell recipe.

The kicker? You only need two ingredients:

  • 2 cups of your favorite chocolate bar or chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil

Instructions:

Add chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until the mixture is completely melted. Drizzle over ice cream (or anything else you want) and watch it harden in less than a minute.

You can store the leftover shell mixture in an airtight container at room temperature.

Didn’t think it would be that easy? That’s why we’re here. Next time you’re down to have an ice cream party, make sure to run with the special shell. Your friends will think you’re a culinary mastermind, but we’ll keep it between us.
