Here’s Where You Can Get The Best Gelato In The World

@gelatoworldtour

Gelato is essentially a golden gift from the universe. Is there anything better than this dense, creamy frozen treat? We think not. That’s why when the best gelato in the world was announced, we freaked. The winner: a classic pistachio scoop from Gelateria Crispini in Spoleta, Italy.

Condé Nast Traveler reports that the “Gelato World Tour,” which is held by the Carpigiani Gelato University (it’s a real place and it looks amazing), announced the winner at the close of the three-year tournament. Thirty-six finalists made a total of 5,511 pounds of gelato over the course of the three-day finale.

The winning scoop is made of three Sicilian pistachio varieties that have been slow-roasted for 24 hours before being mixed with sugar and vanilla beans. The mixture is then blended with cream, more whole pistachios, caramelized sugar and a sprinkle of Adriatic sea salt.

Yeah, it sounds bomb.

If you’re gelato-obsessed, get your passport ready and head to Spoleta to try the best scoop for yourself. We know you won’t regret it.
