This Boston Bakery Serves More Than 18 Flavors Of Cannolis

It’s pretty hard not to be a cannoli fan. After all, what’s there not to like about fried pastry dough stuffed with a sweet, creamy ricotta filling? And Mike’s Pastry — a long-standing beloved Boston bakery — makes more than 18 flavors of cannolis. It’s kind of ridiculous. Everyone from American presidents to tourists to local Bostonians goes to Mike’s to load up on fun cannoli flavors.

Located in Boston’s North End, which is considered to be Boston’s Little Italy, Mike’s is known for having absurdly long lines of customers waiting to buy signature cannolis wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white boxes. Mike’s cannoli flavors include chocolate chip, Florentine, chocolate-covered, mint chip, espresso, hazelnut, chocolate ricotta, strawberry, limoncello, peanut butter, Nutella, Oreo, chocolate cream, yellow cream, amaretto, chocolate mousse and chocolate-dipped.

Mike’s Pastry also has two other locations in Massachusetts — one in Somerville and one in Cambridge. People make this shop the destination not only for their cannolis, but also for their lobster tails —  an Italian pastry called sfogliatella with a flaky outside and a sweet cream filling.

So, if you’re at all into cannolis, you’ll want to check out this joint. With more than 50 years of baking experience under its belt, Mike’s Pastry is clearly doing something right.
