You’ll Want To Get To The Airport Insanely Early For These Crazy Attractions

You won’t dread layovers at these six airports around the world. They’ve got attractions to make the traditional airport market go green with envy. Here are our favorites, so if you can book your flight connection through one of these destinations, we recommend it. They’re so cool we’re tempted to get to the airport hours before our flight departs.

The Slide @T3 — Changi International Airport, Singapore

Your inner child will love a layover at Singapore’s airport. It has a four-story slide that’s open to adults – it’s nearly 40 feet tall – although if you’re over 6’5″, you’re sadly outta luck.

Airbrau Brewery — Munich International Airport, Germany

Order a flight before your flight. It seems only fitting that the home of Oktoberfest would have an in-airport brewery. You can sample on-theme brews such as the Aviator, Jetstream and Mayday.

UA IMAX Theatre @Airport — Hong Kong International Airport, China

Forget the little seatback screens on your next flight, Hong Kong’s airport offers big-screen 3D movies. It’s actually the biggest IMAX screen in the entire city and the theater has extra special effects like fog and bubbles to make films come to life.

Aquarium — Vancouver International Airport, Canada

The famed Vancouver Aquarium has two satellite exhibits at the airport, so while you’re waiting for your flight, you can explore under the sea.

Hiking Trails — Zurich Airport, Switzerland

Need some exercise? Zurich’s airport is surrounded by miles of paths for the perfect excursion. You can drop your bags at a locker service and rent bikes, roller blades or walking sticks to head out on the trails.

KLIA Jungle Boardwalk — Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia

If you’re feeling jet lagged, maybe some nature will get you on track. Kuala Lumpur’s airport has its very own rainforest, where travelers can get some fresh air and enjoy the sound of waterfalls.
