Even if you consider yourself a margarita aficionado, you’ll want to try this one. The famous avocado margarita is thick and creamy. People come from all over the world to get a taste of this cocktail.

The $8 frozen drinkĀ is made with crushed ice, tequila, avocado, triple sec, lime juice and cilantro, and the glass has a salted rim.Ā The sought-after cocktail has the consistency of a smoothie and it’s the light green color of guac.

Curra’s avo creation was the beginning of a much bigger trend in Austin. If you live in this funky city, or travel there, you might see copycats of the avo margarita, but they’re not the original. Even though you’re drinking tequila, at least you can feel like there is some health benefit involved since avocados are packed with omega-3 fatty acids (healthy fats your body needs).
