You Won’t Believe These Outrageous Adult-Only Camps Are Real

@spacecampusa

When you think about the idea of an adult-only camp, a childhood blast from the past probably comes to mind…just with more alcohol. They’re fairly prominent these days, but there are a lot of out there camps popping up on the radar. We guess we shouldn’t be surprised that there really is something for everyone; however, the camps below go to extreme lengths to satisfy even the weirdest interests.

1. Gladiator Training Rome Cavalieri, The Waldorf Astoria Collection — New York City, New York

This camp only lasts for a day, but you’re guaranteed to get the experience of a lifetime. For $760 per person, you can take a course to gear up and act like a gladiator. Instructors will prompt you to get dressed in your uniform (which includes gladiator sandals and tunics) and teach you how to fight the old Roman way, using wooden and iron weapons.

The course lasts three hours, and at the end, you can look forward to a medal and a special four-handed massage by two therapists. The price is steep, so you really have to want to live the gladiator life to embrace this adult-only camp.

2. The Rock ‘N Roll Fantasy Camp — Multiple Locations

Ever wanted to be a rock star? This adult-only camp is for you. Head to the camp’s next location for a three- or four-day rock n’ roll experience and learn from the best — no, literally. Your teachers are rock legends like The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford and Bad Company’s Simon Kirke. You can jam with them during the day, and then ask them for advice on a song you’re writing. The packages range from $4,500 to $9,000.

3. Space Camp — Huntsville, Alabama

If your childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut haven’t come to fruition, it’s okay — there’s an adult camp for that. Space Camp lets you live out three to eight days like a true astronaut. The program simulates real-life training and puts you in the actual suits NASA uses. You’ll experience no-gravity space stations, doing an actual countdown, “walking on the moon” (your surroundings will look realistic) and a simulated rocket landing. It’s yours for the package of your choice, which ranges from $449–$1,299.
