The Upper East Side Gains A Farm-To-Table Victor With The East Pole

[tw-divider]The Scoop[/tw-divider]

  • The East 60s finally have a trendy farm-to-table spot to call their own — the East Pole joins the folks at the Fat Radish with Brinkley’s ring leaders, Tom and Anthony Martignetti
  • Ideal for just about any occasion, this neo-American eatery has a locavore menu with a downtown vibe, similar to its Lower East Side sibling. Open till 3 am, the East Pole brings a youthful glow to the neighborhood
  • For starters, the citrus fluke crudo is a must (pink peppercorn, shaved fennel, and jalapeño), or the heirloom carrots (hijiki salad with avocado). For mains, you’ll want the chicken Kiev (charred broccoli and timberdoodle cheese), or chef Wilber’s fish pie (fennel, tarragon, and juicy chunks of fresh lobster), and don’t miss the adult ice cream sundae (Steve’s vanilla and scotch chocolate ice cream, Pimms-soaked cherries, and chocolate sauce)

While the East Pole is a satisfying offshoot of the lovable Fat Radish, the crowd is by no means the same; come uptown for the food and don’t expect the same millennial Orchard Street crew
