SoulCyclers, Get Ready For Big Changes To Your Bikes

@soulcycle

Die-hard SoulCycle fans: you probably have an emotional connection with your bike, if not the entire SoulCycle empire (yes, that includes merch). It’s possible though that you’ve taken a ride on a bike that acts up or that doesn’t act as efficiently as your favorite go-to. That’s not a coincidence — Soul’s bikes are a little outdated, which is why brand new SoulCycle bikes are making their debut this summer across the U.S.

The company is rolling out the new model, which has enhanced design features and meticulous adjustments to functionality and comfort.

With the last major revamp in 2012, SoulCycle CEO Melanie Whelan told Well And Good that the upcoming changes are overdue.

“We’re 11 years old and many of our riders have been with us that long,” she said. “It’s our job to continue to surprise, delight, and up the game every time they come into the studio.”

Here’s what you need to know about the new SoulCycle bike:

1. The handlebars are designed for comfort, as well as the effectiveness of the workout.

The grips and grooves are more defined and the angle of the handlebars helps you to maintain a good posture and spine during your ride.

2. There are more seat adjustment options.

Like the old bikes, riders can make adjustments to seat height and depth, as well as handlebar height. The new model also allows you to customize handlebar depth. If you want to pull your seat back, you can pull your handlebars back accordingly.

3. You can expect a smoother ride overall.

The old model runs off a chain-based wheel system, while the new model utilizes magnetic belts. Mainly, the belts will ensure that each bike is functioning like all of the others and keep the workout uniform.

We are more than ready to try out the new bike, which will be a part of a 6,000-bike nationwide rollout to be completed within 18 months. If you’re lucky enough to snag the first seat, enjoy the ride.
