Black Insomnia, dubbed “The World’s Strongest Coffee,” debuted in Cape Town in 2006 with the vision of “rebooting” the coffee industry, according to its founder, Sean Kristafor. He wanted to offer “something a little different – something stronger and darker, with an edge.”

With the launch of Black Insomnia in the United States, the company said that no other company has “been able to reach the unadulterated caffeine content that defines Black Insomnia, nor should any brand attempt to surpass this content in the interest of public health and safety.” And, the pioneering coffee brand backed up its claim as being the world’s strongest with independent research.

Notably, the potent coffee is made without any added chemicals, preservatives or sugars, meaning it’s just naturally strong.
