Winter is coming… and while it probably won’t bring White Walkers along for the ride, it’s guaranteed to leave us feeling a little chilly. There’s nothing quite as uncomfortable as having inconsolably cold feet during those frigid winter months. People suffering from certain health problems like arthritis, Raynaud’s syndrome, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and fibromyalgia are further predisposed to experiencing chronically cold hands and feet in the winter, and those of us with generally poor circulation aren’t too happy about it, either.
Luckily, software company Intelex has developed a new pair of slippers that can help keep your feet way warmer than your typical house shoes. Meet your new BFF: the microwaveable Warmies Heatable Slippers. To warm these babies, just pop them in the microwave for up to 90 seconds, take them out and let your feet bask in their blissful warmth. Keeping your feet warm can actually help redistribute heat around your entire body, so it’s a surefire way to feel toasty from head to toe.
These fuzzy slippers are filled with millet grains and scented with dried lavender, so they can be safely reheated in the microwave as many times as you want. Plus, the lavender has the added benefit of helping soothe and relax tired, aching feet and it smells amazing. You can find these slippers directly on Intelex for $24.99 or on Amazon starting at $19.99. They come in a variety of different patterns, colors and styles — everything from cheetah print to classic winter white.
Once spring rolls around, you can still make use of these plush slippers by transforming them into portable ice packs. Just store them in a plastic bag, put them in the freezer and — voilá — your portable heaters become on-the-go ice packs that soothe aches and pains even when you don’t have access to actual ice. To clean them, simply wipe them off with a damp cloth.
Even if you’re someone who wears sandals in the snow, consider buying a pair for that friend of yours who always complains about being cold. We bet these slippers would make great stocking stuffers!
