You Can Sleep Inside A Tequila Barrel In The Town Of Tequila, Mexico

It doesn’t get more tequila than this. In the Mexican town of Tequila, there’s a hotel that lets you sleep inside a giant tequila barrel and sample authentic tequila drinks. Oh, and there are tequila shots upon arrival.

Matices Hotel de Barricas is pretty much tequila world. Your barrel (starting at $180 per night) holds a king-sized bed and a rain shower. And you’ll find tequila’s plant of origin, agave,  surrounding the barrels on the property.

Guests can learn about the production of everyone’s favorite liquor from south of the border. There are tequila production tours of the property that walk tequila fans through the process from harvesting agave to distillation.

Whenever you want to leave your cozy barrel for more tequila fun, Matices Hotel de Barricas has a tequila tasting room, bar and restaurant. There’s also a free shuttle that goes back and forth between the hotel and the actual town proper of Tequila. Get ready to get your tequila on!
