You Can Help This Sanctuary Get Pandas Ready To Return To The Wild (Hugs Included)

We can all agree that hands-down the best thing to happen to the internet is videos of pandas. If you don’t agree, well, let’s talk, because these are some of the most lovably mischievous creatures in the world. And you’ll find the viral stars residing in Wolong National Nature Reserve in Chengdu, China.
There are several branches of Wolong.
There’s a center for breeding, a center for reintroducing the pandas into the wild and spaces where visitors can meet pandas.
The Gengda Center is open to the public.
You can get up close and personal with the pandas.
If you’re lucky, you might see baby pandas.
They sleep in incubators displayed to the public between July and September.
There’s a panda kindergarten.
You can see caretakers check in on young pandas and watch feedings.
The Dujiangyan Panda Base is home to the Panda Keeper Program.
Travelers can help care for the pandas, cleaning panda homes and prepping food for them.
It’s part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries.
And it’s a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
But even here, there are only 2,000 pandas left in the wild.
The lovable creatures are still endangered.
If you want to visit these amazing creatures, you can fly into Chengdu and make your way to one of the Wolong centers from there. Admission ranges from $10 (for a tour) to $285 (for hugging a panda — yes, really), depending on how close you want to get to the animals.
