Ben & Jerry’s Launches A New Line Of Creamy Low-Calorie Ice Cream
Ben & Jerry’s is finally stepping up to all of the low-calorie ice cream brands dominating the market right now with moo-phoria, its new product line with three new flavors: P.B. Dough, Caramel Cookie Fix and Chocolate Milk and Cookies. While your average pint of Ben & Jerry’s clocks in at around 1,000 calories, these lower-calorie pints have between 140 and 160 calories per half-cup serving (which is one-fourth of a pint).
Don’t worry — the ice cream still has all of those glorious chocolate chunks and caramel swirls you know and love.
Moo-phoria pints have 60 to 70 percent less fat and 35 percent fewer calories than the brand’s full-fat ice cream options. They’re also fair trade-certified. The Chocolate Milk and Cookies (140 calories) is a combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled with chocolate chip cookies. So, basically milk and cookies. And the Caramel Cookie Fix (150 calories) combines vanilla ice cream with salted caramel swirls and shortbread cookies.
Our personal favorite, though, is the P.B. Dough (160 calories), which has “gobs” of chocolate chip peanut butter cookie dough swirled into rich chocolate ice cream. The peanut butter flavor is strong AF here and the cookie dough pieces are fully present in every bite. You can’t even tell it’s low-cal.
The new line of Ben & Jerry’s flavors will soon be in grocery stores nationwide. Each pint will retail for $4.89. You can use this flavor locator to find moo-phoria flavors near you.
We’re not saying these new kids on the block are on the same level as Chunky Monkey or Half Baked, but they’re pretty damn creamy and flavorful for ice cream that has half the calories of a normal pint. Well done, Ben & Jerry’s.
