2017 Will Be the Year of Nationwide Pizza ATMs

A French company is betting big on our appetite for pizza, hoping to install pizza ATMs throughout the United States over the next year.

Distributed by a company called Paline, the “fully automated pizza vending machine” was introduced at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, last August.

Now, Paline hopes to expand its reach in the US through a network of enterprising Americans to buy the machines. Promising quick return on investment (ROI) and “an extended pizza menu,” the company is waiting on individual buyers and willing pizza makers to bite.

If you like, you can also take part in an accredited “Pizza Chef training program” through Xavier for $6,000 to ensure that you can produce results that are “similar to those of artisan pizza ovens.”

One pizza ATM will set you back $55,000 and holds 70 pies, which Paline recommends you sell for $10 each. The company says that at least businesses in 20 states have expressed interest in the machines, and that machines will start popping up in the US and Canada as early as this month. There’s no guarantee that these pizzas will be worthy of our discerning American palates, but a little competition is good for everyone.
