How to Use Your Love of Pasta for the Greater Good

Givovanni Rana

Throughout October, your love of carbs can be used to help fellow New Yorkers in need. In celebration of National Pasta Month, Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina at Chelsea Market is hosting a campaign called #RanaLovesPasta.

Here’s how it works: All month, the family-owned Giovanni Rana, which makes 1,000 pounds of fresh pasta per day in its New York City kitchen, will donate one pound of pasta to the Food Bank for New York City each time a guest orders from the new fall pasta menu.

The menu is available every day and the campaign runs through October 31.

Dishes include:

  • Fish & Chips Ravioli Fritti: Baccalà & Potato
  • Squid Ink Fusili, Octopus, Tomato, Sopressata, Uni
  • Roasted Fennel-Apple & Pork Sausage Ravioli Duetto
  • Truffle Mushroom Girasole, Black Truffle
  • Kale & Quinoa Girasole, Pistachio Sauce

To participate, share a photo of your pasta order with the hashtag #RanaLovesPasta.

Your order will help combat food poverty in New York City, an issue which affects one in five children in the city, and touches the lives of at least three million New Yorkers living in low-income neighborhoods where access to affordable and nutritious food is lacking.
