The Riis Park Beach Bazaar Features Food, Campfire And Concerts

It’s always hard to say goodbye to summer, but now that September is just around the corner, it’s about time to pack up all the pool toys and put away the air conditioners. But first! Take advantage of one last long beach weekend at the Rockaways, complete with food, a campfire, and some free concerts.
Beginning this Thursday, September 1, do some dancing and drinking at Rock!Away! alongside local DJs, vendors, and artists, and follow up the next night with Campfire Fridays, a weekly jam session hosted by local musician Lorena Leigh. Finally, on Saturday, enjoy free performances from the Coffin Daggers and Tarantinos NYC (who want you to know that “yes, Tarantino music is its own genre” — think 60s and 70s surf and soul music, plus spaghetti western soundtracks).
Of course, it’s not a real Rockaways weekend without all your favorite beach foods — so fill up on tacos from Oaxaca, BBQ from Fletcher’s, freshly caught seafood from Wild Feast, and ice cream from Ample Hills Creamery. Riis Beach Bazaar is open Monday-Friday 12-8pm, and Sunday-Saturday 11am-9pm.
