Weekend Edition

1. App Of The Week: Hopper

Hopper helps you get the best flight deals. The app watches flight prices and alerts you when it’s the best time to buy your tickets. It also tracks nightly rates at hotels so you can save even more on your trip home for this holiday season or that vacay with the girls. [Swirled]

2. Workout of the Week: Tuck Jump Burpees

What better way to get a full-body workout than with good ol’ burpees? Try the tuck jump burpee, which cranks things up a notch. Start in a high plank position, complete one push-up, thrust your feet up toward your hands, stand and jump, tucking your knees in toward your chest as you move into the air. As you land, bring your hands down to the floor, jump your feet back to the initial high plank position and repeat. [Swirled]

3. What to Watch: “Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King”

Comedian Hasan Minhaj takes a short break from “The Daily Show” to share his stand-up comedy with us, and we gotta say — it’s the first routine we’ve seen that makes us want to laugh and cry in equal amounts. From his adolescent tales of facing blatant racism to his hilarious musings on finally becoming a legit comic, Minhaj is a true storyteller. [Netflix]

4. What to Read: “If Looks Could Kill” by Kate White

This pick from Kate White was released in the ’90s but is still as juicy as ever. Manhattan journalist Bailey Weggins finds herself working on a case that hits a little too close to home. When Cat Jones, the high-profile editor of Gloss Magazine and Bailey’s boss, calls in the middle of the night, she knows something’s up. Jones’ nanny was found dead, and now Bailey is working on the DL to find out who did it before her boss, someone else or even Bailey herself is next. [Amazon]

5. Life Hack Of The Day: Car Edition

Buy a car toward the end of the month. If the salespeople are trying to meet a quota, they’re more likely to cut you a deal.

6. R&R: The Best Winter Balm

If you’ve never heard of Zincuta Ointment, now is the time to try it. The all-natural balm literally solves all of our winter skin woes in one go. Plus, it smells like wintergreen, lavender and bergamot. We love to use it on our wind-chapped lips and our hands, elbows, knees and heels when our skin starts feeling rough and dry. [Swirled]

7. What to Eat: The Best Chili Ever

Yep, we cracked the code to the coziest, yummiest one-pot chili you’ll ever have. We lighten it up with ground turkey and add aromatic spices like cinnamon (yep, cinnamon — trust us!) and adobo spice. Oh, and don’t forget the cheese and sour cream because — well — it’s still chili. [Swirled]

8. What To Drink: Carrot Mimosas

Health up your mimosa (as much as you can, anyway) by ditching the orange juice and swapping in some carrot-apple-ginger juice. You’ll get some extra vitamins, a metabolism boost from the ginger and the perfect amount of sweetness from the apple. [Swirled]

9. Dream Destination: Vienna, Austria

Vienna is known for being a bit posh, but the old city has some cool-girl vibes going for it, too. The Austrian capital’s seventh district, the Neubau, is home to some super hip neighborhoods, quaint streets, a delicious cafe culture and amazing street art. Museum lovers will find tons here and let’s not forget about brunch, which the Viennese take very seriously. [Swirled]

10. Wild Card: Google Has A New Phone Plan Perfect For Travelers — And It’s Not Just For Google Phones

Google is entering the phone service business with its new program Google Fi, and it’s basically made for globetrotters. The service is compatible with non-Google phones (hellooo, iPhones) and it works on a SIM card basis. With unlimited data and texting in 170 countries around the world, Google Fi costs $80 per month.
