You Can Teach Kids Improv In Vietnam And Live Abroad For Free
Ready to live out your Sound of Music fantasies or Glee daydreams? We don’t know whether you’re a Maria von Trapp or a Rachel Berry, but we do know that this opportunity could have you humming all the way to Vietnam.
One lucky Broadway baby will get to stay in a charming Vietnamese town free of charge and geek out about theater with adorable kiddos. Do you have go-to improv games and a roster of show tunes up your sleeve? Then the lucky star could be you.
A Hai Phong English center is searching for a volunteer to help out in its community theater, according to Workaway.com. They want a dramatist who is passionate about the arts, which let’s be real, is every actor ever.
Hai Phong is just a few hours away from Halong Bay and Hanoi, so when you’re not playing theater games, you can explore some of Vietnam’s best tourist destinations.
Your tasks at the center would be:
- Planning drama games for weekly theater workshops
- Teaching the theater’s acting course
- Searching for local venues to host workshops (translators will help you)
That’s it. That’s your job. You’ll also put in a couple hours each week teaching English, but you’re only required to work one to three hours a day total.
In return, you’ll receive free lodging with air conditioning, two meals a day and access to Hai Phong’s authentic food, historic pagodas and gorgeous views.
