These days, a good job isn’t just about meaningful work — it’s also about the perks. And considering that 60 percent of millennials say they’re open to new job opportunities, it seems like companies need to get serious about employee retention. Well, one organization is knocking the perks game out of the park. Qualtrics, a software company that helps other organizations and researchers gather relevant data, offers each of its employees a lofty $1,500 to experience something new. That’s right — $1,500 in each team member’s pocket to do whatever with.

Business Insider reports that Qualtrics, which employs approximately 1,700 employees based in Provo, Utah, Seattle, Washington and abroad, gives the money to its employees to spend on an experience “they wouldn’t normally be able to have.” There are no limitations on how the funds are used. “We don’t tell you what to do,” said Mike Maughan, Qualtrics’ head of brand growth and global insights. “We just want to say we helped you cross something off your bucket list.”

To qualify for the major perk, employees must be full-time and have spent a year at the company. Business Insider reports that employees have used the money to go on their own adventures — including swimming with sharks in the Galapagos, skiing the Austrian Alps, trekking the Great Wall of China and delivering books to children in the Philippines.

On top of the $1,500, Qualtrics offers its team members fully-paid health care for themselves and their families, a matching 401(k) program, catered lunches at communal tables and even twice-annual “swag bags” that include miscellaneous Qualtrics gear.

We’re not gonna lie — we’re pretty starstruck by this company. While not all organizations have the ability to offer these kinds of perks, what Qualtrics brings to the table is something we appreciate, hard. Everyone needs a break, and you should take them when you need them. But even more: you should feel free to experience the world because you want to. Qualtrics feels that.
