You can escape those spam calls by signing up for the National Do Not Call Registry. The service is a great way to escape the seemingly never-ending influx of robocall. Once you’re registered, most spammers can no longer access your phone number.

The Deets: Backed by the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission, the registry cuts down on any unwanted calls once you sign up. The best part? Once your number is in the system, you’re on the registry for life. All you need to do is give the registry your phone number.

The Bottom Line: While the registry won’t be able to block all unwanted calls (those spammers are finding more and more ways to get in touch with you sadly), it certainly makes things better. If you add your name to the registry and you still get a spam call after you’ve been on the list for at least 31 days, the website directs you to the FTC to report numbers of spam calls. [Swirled]
