Girl Scouts Kick Off 2017 Cookie Season With 2 Types of S’mores

Girl Scout Cookie Season 2017 is upon us, and this year, your favorite neighborhood cookie-mongers have introduced two versions of S’mores — though availability depends on location.

Both cookies are simply called Girl Scout S’mores, but one is “crunchy,” while the other is “crispy.”

The crunchy cookie is manufactured by Little Brown Bakers of Louisville, Kentucky, and takes the form of a graham cracker sandwich with a layer of chocolate and marshmallow. The crispy cookie, meanwhile, is produced by ABC Bakers of Richmond, Virginia, and features a graham cracker with marshmallow frosting and coated entirely with a layer of chocolate. The reason for the split is simply that the Scouts need two companies to meet the country’s insatiable love for Girl Scout Cookies.

It’s the same reason why some customers get Caramel deLites (ABC) and others get Samoas (LBB).

Tracking down cookies is as easy as putting your zip code into the Girl Scouts’ cookie locator. To find out which S’more you’ll get, reach out to your local Girl Scout council.

Still, even with two versions available this season, it’s hard to imagine S’mores taking down the best Girl Scout cookie of all — Thin Mints.
