PSA: You Can Be On A French Caribbean Beach ASAP For $59

This is not a drill: You can escape the winter for $59 and flee to the French Caribbean, thanks to Norwegian Air.

Okay, so to be totally clear, you can escape the winter for $59, but it will cost you a little more to get home. We know, it’s cruel to make you pay to return to the chilly states when the beach is so affordable to reach. But in total, you’ll pay little more than $200 to fly to and from the French Caribbean in January, February or March.

Where are you going, exactly? Say hello to Martinique and Guadaloupe, two Caribbean islands not yet overcrowded with tourists. The best prices are for traveling from East Coast cities like Boston, Miami, New York City and Providence. You can depart for $59 and catch a return flight starting in the $150-range. Deals are available until they run out.

FYI: you’re going to have to be smart about picking your travel dates. Flights from NYC to Martinique jump from $79 on Super Bowl weekend to nearly $600 on Presidents’ Day weekend in mid-February. And yikes, friends. That’s just one way.

But if you do the math right and have some flexibility with your vacay days, you can be thawing out from this polar vortex pretty much imminently.
