They call New York the “city that never sleeps,” but truthfully, we think you can call NYC “the city that never stops working.” The five boroughs are filled with workaholics. But Hawaii is coming to the rescue. Hawaii Tourism is bringing six overworked and overtired New Yorkers to Hawaii for a week.

The program, called “Work From Hawaii,” enables those from the Big Apple to experience an island lifestyle much different than the Manhattan grind. The organization is looking for a writer, designer, musician, techie, entrepreneur and filmmaker to come live in tropical paradise for a week — all for free.

There are six different residencies, hosted on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and the Island of Hawaii. Each is tailored to a different type of profession. For instance, Lanai’s NYCer will serve as a business exec working from a corner office in the island’s Four Seasons Resort, while on Oahu, Waikiki’s Surfjack Hotel will be home to an artist eager to collab with Honolulu creatives. There’s also a writing retreat on Molokai.

You have until June 4 to apply for the residency, which is in September. To be considered, you must live in NYC and be between ages 24 and 36. That sound like you? Find the right program and submit that application.
