National Parks Will Be 100 Percent Free On These 4 Days In 2018

Hello, nature time! You can get into every single national park for free on four days in 2018.

The National Park Service (NPS) announced this week that visitors have the opportunity to walk straight into any of the U.S.’s stunning national parks without buying tickets.

The free days include:

  • January 15 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • April 21 – The first day of National Park Week
  • September 22 – National Public Lands Day
  • November 11 –Veterans Day

Hikers, bikers, kayakers and casual strollers, step lively to Yellowstone. The four no-fee days in 2018 are a reduction in free park admission days, coming at the end of a year filled with budget cuts and proposed increases to entrance fees. In 2017, we had 10 chances to skip national park entrance fees. In 2018, we’ll have only these four.

To be honest, it’s a real bummer to see the parks stuck cutting corners, but remember, there are many NPS parks that are always free.
